What is the creative process like at Louise Misha?
MARIE: Each collection is a new journey. I always want to tell a story that's as personal as possible. On a daily basis, I collect lots of photos of materials and colours that I put together in my (many) notebooks. This is the starting point for a collection. Then we put our ideas together with the team and present the designs in our workshops. This is followed by a long period of discussion before we come up with the final prototypes. The shoot tells the whole story, it's a decisive and very intense moment when all the work comes to life. The image is very important to Louise Misha, almost as important as the garment.
What is the house's iconic model?
MARIE: For the women's line, I'd simply go for the Bayo swimming costume, which has been iconic for years, shaping the figure with its retro cut and little ruffles on the thighs. And I'm very proud that all our women's and girls' swimwear is made from recycled materials.
Recently, it's been our patchwork jackets that have been popular season after season, with their removable sleeves.
In the children's line, I'd probably also mention the little Astrid or Teliani quilted jackets, which we use in our prints and which are so unique.
How much of your own personality does Louise Misha have?
MARIE : Louise Misha is a bohemian brand. I try to convey this spirit through Louise Misha's pieces and images. I'm someone who has a great need for freedom, to break away from existing codes. I travel a lot and my travels are a great source of inspiration. I'm very curious and I'm passionate about painting and creativity in general. Finally, I'd say that Louise Misha is a plurality of femininity, with which I identify, being a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a friend.
