Can you tell us about Flair?

CLÉMENCE : Flair is a brand dedicated to chic and sexy ready-to-wear bodysuits for women, 100% made in Troyes, my home town and a historic bastion of French textiles.
Our ambition is to make the Flair bodysuit a benchmark of glamour, a barometer of absolute elegance, a strong piece that frees itself from the codes of lingerie to redefine those of ready-to-wear.

What is your background and what led you to launch this project?

CLÉMENCE : I grew up in the 90s with an elegant mother who swore by bodysuits. She was the one who instilled in me a love for this item! After 3 years in marketing at Uber France and a thirst for independence and adventure, I wanted to reinvent the bodysuit, free it from the codes of lingerie and honour my home town and its forgotten skills. In October 2017, Flair was born and has been growing ever since, remaining true to our origins. From the making, knitting and dyeing of our fabrics to our labels and logistics, everything is done in Troyes!

What is the brand's DNA?

CLÉMENCE : Flair bodysuits are a concentrate of sexiness and French know-how. Shapely necklines, flattering cuts, second-skin fabrics... Wearing Flair means owning an exceptional piece of clothing, a celebration of French know-how, a product made to the exacting detail, with lines designed to structure the silhouette and give the look a twist. A garment that simply emphasises and enhances feminine curves.

Where do you find your inspiration? What is the creative process at Flair? What inspires you?

CLÉMENCE : Inspiration is everywhere if you take the time to observe what's around you. A film, an exhibition, a café terrace, a material, architecture... but above all the nuggets in my mum's dressing room, an inexhaustible and unrivalled source of inspiration. I take photos of the details that catch my eye as I go along, and when the time comes, I set aside hours to put it all to music and design our new bodysuits! I then rework them 2, 5, 10, 15 times with our pattern makers to offer our customers the most perfect, comfortable, elegant and sexy product possible.

How would you describe your style?

CLÉMENCE: Timeless yet sophisticated basics, an ode to good taste and well-made products. An easy-chic, glamorous look that's easy to accessorise!

What are the words that best define you?

CLÉMENCE: Instinct, boldness and sensuality

What's your favourite Flair piece?

CLÉMENCE: The Gabrielle bodysuit, a bestseller since we started, and directly inspired by a vintage knitted jumper my mum made. It's a wrap-around style in velvet with long sleeves in the winter, which is available in short sleeves for sunny days (Gaby) and sleeveless at the height of the season (Christy). It's magical, and sublimates the curves of every body type, whatever the season or special occasion.

What are your earliest memories of clothes?

CLÉMENCE: Whole afternoons spent in my mum's and aunt's dressing room trying on, literally, all their clothes, shoes and bags, and endless negotiations about my outfits from the age of 3.
